Saint Peter's R.C. Primary School God is at the heart of our school

Class 3

Welcome to Class 3's page!

What are we learning about?

The Roman Invasion!!

This term we are learning all about the Roman Invasion of Britain! We will be using Geography skills to identify the Roman empire, imagining life as a Roman soldier and experiencing what it would have been like to fight in Roman battle formations!

We had a fantastic time on our school trip to Bosworth. The children learned how to be Roman soldiers. They made Roman coins and even dressed up in Roman costumes.

Hope for the Homeless

Thank you for all of your generous donations to the homeless appeal! smiley

We will be welcoming donations all year.

Visit to Hinckley Accademy for National Science Week!

We recently visited Hinckley Accademy to use their labs and equipment during Science week. The morning involved us handling and dissecting a heart, using bunsen burners to find out how much energy is in foods and also look at the effect of exercise on our bodies! We really enjoyed using the equipment and learned a lot!

Where is the love?

This year, to show love where it is needed, Class 3 will be supporting local charities that help people who are homeless.

A little can go a long way. Let's show love and make a difference!

Important information:

  • PE- We are looking atheltics and invasion games this term. PE will take place on Mondays and Fridays. Please make sure your child has an indoor and outdoor kit.
  • Homework- It has been decided that bingo grids will no longer be given out. Homework will now consist of daily reading, spelling practise and a maths activity. We would also like your child to practise mental maths at home using the J2blast online game or by completing any other additional maths work given to them when appropriate.
  • Reading should be taking place as much as possible and recorded in your child's boomerang book.
  • Spelling lists will also be sent home in your child's boomerang book to practise. The look, cover, write, check approach is a good strategy to embed spellings. We have a lot of them to learn this year!
  • Maths tasks will be sent home (inside their homework book) alongside the reading and spelling. This will follow on from what your child has been learning in the classroom and your support with these will benefit your child greatly.
  • Homework is due in on Wednesdays and will be checked weekly. Your child will be rewarded for completing all elements of their homework.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have either by email, boomerang book or in the playground.

Thanks again for your support!
