Saint Peter's R.C. Primary School God is at the heart of our school

Class 3

Welcome to Class 3's page!

What are we learning about?

Harry Potter Week!

We had an amazing time during Harry Potter week! We made boxes for Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans that were sold in The Leaky Cauldron Cafe. We performed a brilliant Hogwarts paraody written by Mrs Smith for the assembly and had so much fun on dress up day!

A HUGE well done to you all for our wonderful ‘Hope for the Homeless’ assembly! You are all amazing and so generous! We all enjoyed our first well-deserved marble party. I am so proud of each and every one of you.

Keep up the brilliant work and keep donating.

Have a great half term!

Hope for the Homeless

Thank you for all of your generous donations to the homeless appeal! smiley

We will be welcoming donations all year.

Congratulations! We received our bronze awards!

We watched the Roald Dahl Day Show live and drew along with Quentin Blake!

We then turned into Matilda and wrote in our diaries the day Miss Trunchbull locked us in the chokey!

Where is the love?

This year, to show love where it is needed, Class 3 will be supporting local charities that help people who are homeless.

A little can go a long way. Let's show love and make a difference!

What are we reading?

Important information:

  • Swimming will take place on Thursday afternoons for the first term (until Christmas). Please make sure your child has a full swimming kit in school on that day.
  • PE- Because swimming takes up all of our timetabled PE for the week, there won't be a scheduled PE lesson during the first term. We will however squeeze any lessons in when we can so please ensure your child has a full PE kit in school at all times.
  • Homework- It has been decided that bingo grids will no longer be given out. Homework will now consist of daily reading, spelling practise and a maths activity. We would also like your child to practise mental maths at home using the J2blast online game or by completing any other additional maths work given to them when appropriate.
  • Reading should be taking place as much as possible and recorded in your child's boomerang book.
  • Spelling lists will also be sent home in your child's boomerang book to practise. The look, cover, write, check approach is a good strategy to embed spellings. We have a lot of them to learn this year!
  • Maths tasks will be sent home (inside their homework book) alongside the reading and spelling. This will follow on from what your child has been learning in the classroom and your support with these will benefit your child greatly.
  • Homework is due in on Wednesdays and will be checked weekly. Your child will be rewarded for completing all elements of their homework.

I am happy to answer any questions you may have either by email, boomerang book or in the playground.

Thanks again for your support!
